The National Sports Centre will begin readying in earnest on Tuesday for the coming 37th World Rugby Classic, to be held November 1-7.

The NSC North Field and pavilion will be affected until November 13.

Craig Tyrrell, the operation manager, said that the 600-metre track would be off limits to walkers and runners, and visitors will not have access to the outdoor gym and its surrounding grassy area.

The classic this year features Argentina Legends, Italian Classic, Classic Canada, Classic Springboks, Classic Lions, Classic USA, South Africa Rugby and the Classic Eagles, along with matches with Bermuda mini rugby.

Mr Tyrrell added: “We are always excited when hosting events like the World Rugby Classic, but it does mean that, for safety purposes while we prepare for and during the tournament, the North Field will have to be closed to our recreational users.

“We do apologise for any inconvenience, but look forward to their return after the event.”
