Kane Crichlow to play alongside Andy Carroll at new club
Kane Crichlow will be playing alongside former Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham player Andy Carroll after signing for Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Bermuda forward has left Sutton United to sign a two-year deal at the East London club, who play in the National League South, the sixth tier of English Football.
Moving to Dagenham gives Crichlow the chance to play with Carroll, who scored 54 goals in 248 Premier League appearances. He also scored twice in nine international matches for England.
Carroll, now 37, signed for Dagenham last year and is a minority shareholder at the club alongside influencer KSI and Tony Fernandes, the former owner of Queens Park Rangers.
The forward was also named interim Dagenham manager in March after Lee Bradbury was sacked but has now reverted to a player after Lee Allinson was hired as head coach this month.
Allinson, fresh in the job, is excited to welcome Crichlow to the club.
“I’m delighted to get Kane over the line,” he said.
“He’s a really exciting, front-footed attacking player with plenty of quality. He knows where the goal is and he’ll be a fantastic addition to the football club. A big thank you as well to Sutton United for helping make the move happen.”
Crichlow made his senior debut for Bermuda in 2021 and has scored ten international goals.
He has played for a number of clubs in England, including Watford, Bishop’s Stortford, Chelmsford City and Sutton.
