Bermuda Archives to hold open house – all are welcome

People can take a step back in time at an open house today. The event will be held on International Archives Day in the basement of the Government Administration Building on Parliament Street.

Celebrated every year since 2008, International Archives Day highlights the importance of preserving history.

Items within Bermuda’s archives include probate records, slave registers, maps and old paintings.

Joanne Brangman, director of the Bermuda National Library, said: “Most Bermudians don’t know that we even have an archives.

“Bermuda’s entire history is living on through the presentation efforts given by the team here. We invite anyone to join us here and see what it is we do.”

Staff will answer questions and give tours at the open house, which will run from 9am until 4pm.

You must be Registered or to post comment or to vote.
