The Information Commissioner’s Office is expected to move to its new home on Burnaby Street tomorrow.

In a notice the ICO, which had been based in the Maxwell Roberts Building on Church Street, confirmed that effective tomorrow the office will move to the third floor of Thistle House on Burnaby Street, near the junction with Church Street.

In March, Diallo Rabain, as the Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, said that a “proposed new lease” for the ICO would help to realise a saving of $22,000.

Meanwhile a capital investment of $36,000 will cover furniture and equipment at “the new office”, he added.

The ICO is tasked with ensuring public access to the records of public authorities, fostering government transparency and accountability under the Public Access to Information Act 2010.

The office was allocated $147,000 for rentals in the 2025-26 Budget, but the revised figure for that year in the 2026-27 Budget was $120,000.

The budget allocated for the 2026-27 fiscal year was $125,000.
