Life-coaching call for volunteers, including a few good men
A charity is seeking 45 volunteers to mentor and support up young people during the 2026-27 school year.
A statement from the Mirrors Programme encouraged both men and women to apply to be life coaches, but noted a “particular need for positive male role models who are willing to invest their time, experience and encouragement into the next generation”.
Life coaches will assist up to 25 young people through leadership development, weekly training, personal growth, community service projects and other experiences through the 2026-27 Community Programme Leadership Academy.
Applicants do not need prior professional coaching experience, as the Mirrors Programme will provide training from September 11 to 13 and ongoing support throughout the programme.
The statement added: “After training, life coaches will participate in a matching day where they will meet their young person and begin their coaching journey.
“The experience continues with an eight-month follow-through, including weekly coaching sessions and monthly experiential activities from October 2026 to May 2027.”
Alicia Trott, the Mirrors Programme youth and community engagement officer, said: “Bermuda’s young men need a positive adult who consistently shows up, listens, challenges and believes in them.
“We need our men to volunteer and support us in developing confident, socially responsible young people equipped to positively influence their peers, schools and communities.”
Interested volunteers should fill out a jotform link to register for an information session about Mirrors and what it offers, or contact 294-9291 or mirrors@gov.bm to learn more.
