Lindo’s Tigers captain Jahtuere Trott has declared her team’s intention to remain unbeaten for the 2023/24 netball season.

The Tigers, who finished third last season, have so far won all three matches they have played, with the latest win coming when beating St George’s 39-19 on Saturday.

“We’re very excited,” Trott said.

“Last season we placed third and we’re always a team to place in the top three so I really want to see if we can actually get that number one spot and go undefeated. That’s our goal this season.

“We've got three in the bag already and we've got one more until the Christmas break, and then we start up again. We’re looking to finish strong and it’s still a long way to go but I think we can handle it and go undefeated.”

The Trott twins, Jahtuere and Jahkenya, have been a menace for opposition defenders since the start of the season, scoring a combined 114 of the 123 goals recorded by Anthony Mouchette’s side.

Jahkenya contributed 23 goals, to take her season’s tally to 77, in the win over St George’s while Jahtuere chipped in with 16. Diara Benjamin was adjudged the Tigers MVP. Kaylee Lima was voted the best attacker, while Jordyn Ming was deemed the most outstanding defender.

St George’s MVP Nikita Trott was their top scorer with 12 goals, followed by Amali Powell with five and Sonja Townsend contributing two. Hailey Smith was named best attacker for the losing side.
