Jarryd Dillas and Damian Palanyandi are pumped up for their Bermuda Four-Ball Championships title at Port Royal Golf Course this weekend.The pair competed together for the first time at the 2018 event which they won by a comfortable seven strokes over Eric West and Spencer Wideman.“Damian and I are both playing well and are looking forward to it,” said Dillas, the top local amateur.“We teamed up for the first time together last year and obviously had a good result, so we’re looking forward to the challenge of trying to defend our title.“The weather forecast looks a bit iffy for Sunday. “The plan from the association’s standpoint is to get 36 holes in but the forecast for Sunday, a combination of wind and rain, you never know if we’re going to be able to do that. “So for us it will be about going out trying to get off to a really good start tomorrow and try and be in the lead after the first day. That way it’s kind of all in our hands if the unfortunate decision has to be made to shorten the event.“There are a few good teams that have signed up. It’s been a bit of chat back and forth, which has been nice.”Dillas is fresh off his and Bermuda’s best showing at the Latin America Amateur Championship held from January 15 to 18 at the Mayakoba’s El Camaleon Golf Club in Mexico, where he finished 28th in a field of 108.“It was a good few days, so I am coming in with some decent form,” he said. “I’m looking forward to this weekend.”Also back to the defend their title in the women’s division are Linda Down and Katrin Burnie who won by four shots over Tracy Burgess and Ann Symonds.“We are obviously hoping to defend,” said Down, who is competing with Burnie for the second time. “We have practised a little bit together as time has allowed and we’re set and poised to do our best.”“The weather is looking to be definitely a possible influence and challenge, so bring your wind game with you.”
