The island has gone eight days with no positive coronavirus cases after 129 test results came back negative yesterday.

The Ministry of Health announced that the island’s total confirmed cases remained at 141.

Out of nine active cases, seven are under public health monitoring, and two were in hospital, neither in critical care. Recovered patients totalled 123 and the death toll remains at nine.

Kim Wilson, the health minister, reminded the public that free testing for Covid-19 was still on offer at the Southside drive-through test centre in St David’s.

The centre is in the car park of the former White’s grocery store.

Ms Wilson said demonstrators who attended the Black Lives Matter march on Sunday were “especially encouraged to get tested, in particular if you were in close contact with an unmasked person”.
