Don’t leave home without it
Tracking bracelets used to monitor people quarantined because they contracted Covid-19 are the same type used in Hong Kong, the Premier has revealed.
David Burt explained how the trackers worked at Thursday's coronavirus briefing — and said he had to be careful not to activate the mechanism.
He added: “It will recognise the proximity of the place where they are staying, whether it be a room, an apartment or a house and if they go outside that proximity, as is done in Hong Kong and will be the same here, the notification will be sent to the authorities and the authorities can go and check in with that particular offender.”
Mr Burt said the bracelet activated when it was locked to a wrist and would set off an alarm if the wearer tried to remove it.
