Budgies crowned Knock Out champs

The Budgies were crowned champions of the Women’s A Hockey Division Knock Out final after defeating Wildcats 2-1 at the National Sports Centre at the weekend.Budgies took the lead through a penalty corner which saw Keishae Robinson find Erica Furtado who fired home past the Wildcats goalkeeper.Wildcats had their chances, mostly from penalty corners, but were unable to breach Budgies’ unyielding backline.Budgies scored again when they were awarded a free hit just outside the Dee. Robinson was left unmarked and allowed to advance with the ball before scoring with a reverse hit.Wildcats came back in the second half when they managed to convert a penalty corner. Zuri Phillips played a one-two with Susanna Almeida and then slipped the ball beyond the keeper.
