Minors sets goal frenzy in motion

Richard Minors scored a hat-trick as the BHF national team beat BHF All-Stars in a 15-goal thriller, 9-6.

Minors scored twice in the first ten minutes and junior player Hemijah Bean added a third before Dave Horan got the All-Stars on the board, followed by Nigel Deane.

Joshua Thompson restored the two-goal advantage, but Horan was at it again to leave the score 4-3 at half-time.

A three-goal spurt in six minutes after the interval virtually killed off the All-Stars, with Donovan Simmons netting twice and Minors completing his hat-trick. A pair of braces from Andrew Brouwer and young Chris Pacheco made it 9-5 before Horan completed his hat-trick.

In Women’s A Division, Emma Simmons and Alex Wheatley scored hat-tricks in Ravens’ 9-0 win over Longtails. Kristen Ingelman, Carolyn Soares and Ana Abend completed the scoring.

Jasmin Patterson was the star as Budgies beat Bluebirds 2-1 in the B Division. Patterson goals came in the 23rd and 47th minutes. Joanne Smith-Barrow scored Bluebirds’ goal in the midway through the second half.

Isabela Boonstra’s goal in the 55th minute was good enough to get Ravens a 1-0 win over Canaries.

Two goals two minutes apart gave Wildcats a 2-0 win over Longtails. Cerepha Bridgeman struck in the sixteenth minute and soon after was followed on the scoresheet by Stacey DeShield.
