Business Bermuda continued its Asian tour at the Shorex Wealth Management Forum held in Singapore this week.The forum, which address the growing need of the Asian market for private banking, asset management and international tax planning solutions and services, was hosted at Suntec Singapore and offered a platform for professionals to network to explore new services, products and ideas in wealth management.The event attracted more than 50 exhibitors and 1,400 delegates from Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, the Emirates and China.Greg Wojciechowski, CEO of the Bermuda Stock Exchange, and Cheryl Packwood, CEO of Business Bermuda, attended the conference and presented on the benefits of offshore incorporation and listing. Mr Wojciechowski also participated in a panel discussion on international financial centres.Ms Packwood said: “Business Bermuda is continuing to promote the Bermuda story at conferences across the globe and over the past two months has been in Asia, the Gulf, Europe and the United States, delivering our message about Bermuda’s strong regulatory environment, financial strength and the jurisdiction’s commitment to international business. The financial services sector and the funds marketplace in particular are showing signs of significant life.She continued: “Bermuda is one of the world’s leading offshore financial centres and is already recognised by international bodies as being amongst the best regulated and most compliant jurisdictions worldwide.“Singapore is the undisputed centre of wealth management excellence in Asia and a key partner for Bermuda.”Mr Wojciechowski said: “Bermuda’s reputation and track record for upholding international standards in investment fund regulation, and its vigilance against money laundering are an example for all offshore jurisdictions. It continues to provide a regulatory framework in which business can continue to grow and prosper whilst maintaining a secure environment.”Business Bermuda had hosted a Financial Services Reception in Singapore the day before as part of the effort to further develop the relationship between Bermuda and Singapore.
