Anything for a 'taste'

January 17, 2011Dear Sir,Your intentions, Pastor Leroy Bean, are admirable, but you also should know that an addict wanting a “taste” will go to any extent…the extreme to get that “taste”.The “addict wanting a hit” will (in many cases,) go far… far beyond where you may want to believe them going just to get that drug of choice. I say this not to suggest your intent will be fruitless …I’m sure there will be successful cases to show as an example of the need for such a facility; (and it being a necessity having a rehab. on an Island) but the addict will not be stopped doing what it is they put their minds to doing, whether good or bad.Putting them there to learn any trade/s will be of value to them and Bermuda as a whole. It’s great, though I will not be sure of that particular Island being used for such purposes. There’re numerous places that should be consider before “putting the cart before the horse.” Why in the world would we want a place in blatant view of everyone? The purpose it is used for (has been used for) is far more admirable than us having a replica of “The Rock” that is in San Francisco Bay, in Hamilton Harbour. Please, let’s be a bit more discreet in what it is we’re attempting here.RAYMOND RAYSt. George’s
