This was sent to Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva and copied to The Royal Gazette.May 8, 2011Dear Sir,In listening (once again) to the discussion on crime held on CITV featuring yourself along with Minister of National Security Wayne Perinchief, I’d like to at this time, correct you on something you said. You had mentioned something to effect that “we don’t throw fire on fire to put it out” Well, in all honesty, “you do throw fire on a fire to put it out”. That’s the only way to contain a fire that has gotten out of hand … by choking it at the source of energy. All forest fires that do “get out of control” are cut off at its next “source level” and by doing that, the extent of damage is minimised.RAYMOND RAYSt George’s
