Paying for their excesses
May 29, 2011Dear Sir,If the PLP had not mismanaged our economy and wasted hundreds of millions of dollars which led to unprecedented levels of borrowing, Bermuda would not now have to spend tens of millions of dollars every year on interest payments. Interest payments on this scale are lost monies that could have been used to ease the duty on essential imports like quality staple foods that many low income families are now struggling to purchase. Don't expect bread and jam any time soon, even fresh bread is now a luxury item for some to whom a dry crust of day old bread is accepted fare. The PLP Government has been an unmitigated disaster for Bermuda in recent years and we are all paying, where able, for their excesses.STARVING FOR A QUALITY GOVERNMENTPembroke
