June 16, 2011Dear Sir,I just returned from a very enjoyable trip to Bermuda visiting family. My wife and I are frequent visitors to the Island and, as tourists, we always enjoy the beaches and natural beauty that we encounter. On this trip, I happened to have some time on my hands in Hamilton and therefore took the opportunity to visit your National Gallery for the first time.The exhibition by local artist Will Collieson was extremely interesting, and I found his use of unorthodox material quite fascinating. I was also delighted to see the wonderful, bold paintings by the modern French artist Elisee Maclet and, to top it all off, the priceless collection of British and European Grand Masters. The whole experience was very exciting, and dare I say it, quite unexpected.The Curator and friendly staff of the Bermuda National Gallery are to be congratulated on providing such an uplifting cultural experience for residents and tourists alike and I look forward to exploring this further on my next visit.ROBIN HOWDENMayfieldEast Sussex
