July 30, 2011Dear Sir,It's time we put an end to the never-ending saga of the PLP's mishandling of the public purse.It would appear to me and the majority of the Bermuda Public that an Inquiry at the highest level is required.In my opinion, the Premier's latest defence of her party and her position of Finance Minister, that she will appoint an independent committee to investigate the TCD contract, is an effort to cover up the whole mismanagement and handling of the Government purse by herself and the previous Premier, Dr Brown. It is my belief that it's time the Governor stepped in and appointed a Board of independent accountants, who are specialists in this field, to investigate all contracts that were overspent and at the same time critic the bidding process of same.The taxpayer deserves this.While writing this, I would like to know also,1. What was the total cost and who were the contractors for the Port Royal Golf Course; and2. The same for the new Police Station and Courts Building, and who were the recipients of the cheques, signed I hope by the Finance Minister?DAVID GARLANDWarwick
