Perfect for seniors

February 15, 2012Dear Sir,I would like to publicly thank Louise Jackson for the years she put in the House of Assembly and also for accepting the responsibility for the Shadow Minister of Health. She worked diligently for the seniors of Bermuda’s right to have proper healthcare. I am a number one supporter of her efforts because I just became a senior two years ago.I would like to inform Mrs Jackson and the PLP Government that the perfect health system/scheme has been just under our nose. We couldn’t see the forest for the threes. The person in charge of the health scheme is Lt Col Edward Lamb. He is the Commissioner of Corrections. To qualify for the policy the seniors have to commit a crime, get arrested and be convicted. They have to either go Westgate or the Prison Farm at Ferry Reach for residency. There they will qualify for the perfect healthcare system. They get paid for accommodations, three meals a day with a snack at night. You can take an afternoon nap, watch TV, get your GED or do computer classes, get medical care including specialist and dental care, (choose your gold, silver or bronze dentures) just to name a few benefits. The youth are taking advantage of this and Government is not crying out. When it comes to living in this society, some seniors have to choose between buying their medication or food and Government is telling the seniors to cut back and make ends meet. I would like to tell Government that you cannot get blood out of a stone. It’s a wonder you don’t have more suicides after the age of retirement because it is a real struggle. We need to wake up Bermuda. It is like playing monopoly, don’t go pass GO, just go directly to jail. The sooner you get in the prison system the better healthcare you will receive.WILLARD FOXSmith’s
