A vicious cycleFebruary 16, 2012Dear Sir,From time to time we here about incidents of sexual abuses against our children in our community, this is very disturbing, even if one case is reported let alone a string that has come to the fore recently.The damage that occurs to the victims is tenfold. Studies have proven that children that have been abused later in life become abusers themselves. This is the vicious cycle that repeats itself and makes it extremely difficult for parents, family, the Government, social network and the country itself to correct.There is no cure other than to educate our children so they will learn what is inappropriate and what is not. Even that is no guarantee, but it is an option.We know of the individuals of these hideous crimes against children, but we don’t know the names of the victims, which is not important now but if we don’t pour every ounce of cure into them we will hear and read about them in the distance future.And the vicious cycle repeats itself again.BROWNLOW ADDERLEYSouthampton
