Dear Sir,

“Polly” is right we do not hire Chinese for construction we hire Portuguese and other Europeans and then pay them more than black Bermudians and they do not get it done in 15 days. While I do not know how many, besides most of the white community, will vote on race I do know that as long as the enormous economic and social disparity between the two communities exists, the issue of race will not go away and despite the One Bermuda Alliance’s Bob Richards’ injunction to keep quiet about it so that International Companies will return, that is not going to happen either.

The OBA has promised to get rid of corruption but I do not hear them saying anything about redress for the greatest corruption that is the very foundation of this country: The creation of the economic, social and psychological disparity between the black and white communities. The white community created it, the UBP maintained it, and the OBA wants us to keep quiet about it. Anybody who believes that the OBA is going to do great things for this country while that disparity remains unaddressed is being naive. We have had prosperity without justice and all it did was to delude black people into thinking all was well, as long as they had money, and the result is the creation of black killers determined to get money who are destroying our families and our communities. The white community is not bearing the consequences, we are. We need to realise that with or without money we are in deep trouble as long as this disparity exists.
