Root out corruption

June 15, 2012Dear Sir,There is an evil that stalks the halls of Parliament and this Government, that should not be ignored. Waiting in the wings is a patient enemy, bent and dedicated on destroying this peaceful, happy, lovely little island that we all know and love. To infiltrate and insinuate itself by any means. The motives are obvious, but the methods are much more subtle and insidious. Ignorant persons with a like agenda and they all know who they are, “What’s in it for me?” is the order of the day. Being seduced for the rewards is hardly new, but to ally oneself to this kind of seduction is surely selling one’s soul to the devil. Why does evil make so much headway, we have the proof staring us in the face, we see the writing on the wall yet we do nothing till it is too late. Because of what? Are we too lazy? Too afraid to rock the boat? Too wrapped up in politics so we must be loyal and not offend! Too comfortable? When will we learn that, when we see corruption, we must root it out immediately, not wait till we find ourselves trapped. I salute the bravery of the Syrian people to die by the thousands to say enough is enough and stand up, whatever the cost and destroy the evil that is within. One cannot help but watch with horror and admiration for their sacrifice. Can we, should we, will we do less?DIANA WILLIAMSPembroke
