Timing for signs is wrong

July 11, 2012Dear Sir,Last weekend I rode from Somerset to Hamilton. Along the way there were three separate roadside HIV awareness signs, the most prominent one being next to the Johnny Barnes statue at the entrance to Hamilton. I support AIDS awareness but what is this government thinking posting huge health prevention signs that are intended to promote local awareness, at the peak of our tourism season in key tourist areas? This is certainly not the image that we want our visitors to consider when experiencing the Bermuda brand. In addition there are several other equally important social causes and health issues that require increased local awareness. Why does HIV deserve semi-permanent signs? We collectively chose not to have billboards for a reason. Where is the common sense, team?BERMUDA BRAND PROMOTERWarwick
