Don’t blame the PLP

August 23, 2012Dear Sir,This letter is in response to 'It's a big mess'.My friend, you need to get real! Here are a few questions that I invite you to think long and hard about:1) How does someone in good conscience, blame the 'global' recession, and its domino effect ... ie job losses, pay cuts, on the PLP?2) How does someone in good conscience, blame poor decision making, succumbing to peer pressure, disrespect for family values, miseducation, and a lack of value for life — which has invariably lad to criminal acts in this country — on the PLP?3) How does someone in good conscience, blame ageing machinery, and the issues which occur as a result, during the normal operation and maintenance of vehicles; whether ferry, bus, truck, car, motorcycle, bicycle or even horse & buggy — on the PLP?4) How does someone in good conscience blame racial issues, which continue to be exposed in our country, despite the 'Big Conversation', CURB and the other organisations — on the PLP?5) How does someone in good conscience speak negatively, about the goings on in a Minister's meeting — especially when you were not even part of the meeting? And, if you were in the meetings, why not be part of the solution, rather than complaining in the media?Lastly Sir, it's so easy isn't it, to blame the PLP Government, for every negative happening, great or small? And perhaps that's because it frees us from taking or teaching responsibility. When will we begin to take responsibility for our actions; when will we teach real responsibility to our children? When will we encourage those around us to become more responsible? Many have been spoiled for so long in this country, and we all know that spoiled children never want to “do”, they always want everything to be done for them and when they don't get their way it's always someone else's fault. Now that's a big mess!TRUTHFULLY SPEAKINGDevonshire
