Big difference

January 28, 2013Dear Sir,It is both fascinating and frustrating when presumably intelligent people, which I assume Scott Stewart is (Royal Gazette January 26) completely misread or misinterpret straightforward concepts. I wrote (Royal Gazette January 22) that it is because we (black Bermudians) devalue ourselves and each other that we so often depend on “foreign experts” rather than creating solutions for our own unique circumstances. Hence our mega schools. How does he read that as my blaming racism? That is internalised racism. Big Difference — even though internalised racism is one of the most destructive psychological outcomes of decades, centuries, of racism and segregation.EVA HODGSON
