A note of thanks

February 5, 2013Dear Sir,A special thanks to The Marketplace for the use of all their premises for tag day, which was held Saturday, November 24, 2012. This year we did approximately 480 food hampers. Without the public donations this would not have been possible. At this time when so many persons are finding it difficult to make ends meet our hope is that we were able to help in some small way with them receiving a food hamper during this past Christmas season. As chairperson of the Share the Christmas Spirit project, I am personally taking this opportunity to say my heartfelt thanks to Shuman, President, and Ladricka Simmons, Natalie Rego, Albertha Waite of The Marketplace and especially Joseph Cheeseman for all his hard work in picking up goods from east to west. To Robert Pacheco from Pacheco Farms and his dedicated staff for delivery of fresh vegetables that was donated from his farm and placed in each hamper. Lions Geraldine Waldron, Cora Woods and PDG Stephen Dean for their continued dedication and commitment to this project in preparing the food hampers. We are most grateful to Oil Group of Companies, Bermuda Press Holdings Ltd, Lionel Raynor, Bermuda Housing Corporation, BGA, Butterfield & Vallis, Europa Imports, Wallington Distributors, Wakefern Food Corp, Mr and Mrs Freeman Lema, to those Lions, family members and friends who not only packed but delivered Island wide. Thanks to all Government Preschools, Primary, Middle and High Schools and Bermuda High School for Girls for your contributions. Our prayer is that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will shine his blessings on each and every one of you and your families, and we hope that 2013 will be a prosperous one.LIONS CLUBS OF– BERMUDALion Dessie WaldronChairperson, –Share the Christmas Spirit
