Fostering event was touching
June 3, 2013Dear Sir,I was privileged to be able to attend the award ceremony at the golf tournament held at Riddells Bay Golf Course for the Foster Parents Association on Saturday on June 1. When I was walking down the hill you saw BMWs and Mini Coupes lined up for everyone to see, it was a beautiful sight. At this ceremony I did not think it was going to change my life forever. Below are some of the eventful events of the night.I witnessed about 20 people walking down the middle of the fairway. I asked what was going on. I was informed that they were about to have a shoot-out for a new motorbike from Bermuda Motors. Everyone had two chances to get closest to the hole. When the dust settled David James won a new bike. It was amazing to see people having so much fun. After the shoot-out a young girl who is in foster care dedicated a song to Glenda Edwards, the Director of Family Services. She sang her heart out and when the song was nearly done she thanked everyone who has been part of her journey in foster care. She also broke down with emotion and thanked all the participants for supporting her and the rest of the children in foster care. I had already brought two raffle tickets and went to get more. The organiser, Linzey, is a foster mom. She and her team should be commended. It was flawless. She said that she was the coordinator of the TN Tatem tournament less than two months prior to this one. You can see her heart is with the children. I got the bank information from her to send money to help out this organisation. Well done Bermuda Motors giving back to innocent children of circumstance is amazing.SAMANTHA SMITH
