Mr Brooks deserves an apology
July 10, 2013Dear Sir,After reading the article about the appointment of Andrew Brooks as a consultant to sell Bermuda as a golfing destination (Anger as expat is handed top golf role, July 10), I am extremely disappointed in the manner in which it was written.Professional journalism should involve an equal position from BOTH parties. It was clearly an attempt to promote anger among Bermudians concerning job appointment. It is perfectly acceptable to address the employment issues concerning expats and Bermudians, however, why not include the positives with the negatives? Why wouldn’t you list all of Mr Brooks’ achievements and successes in his professional life before and while in Bermuda? I find it appalling for you to ignore the fact that Mr Brooks is a great ASSET to Bermuda. He deserves a personal apology from you and The Royal Gazette. This article was written on grade school level at best. Why not write a positive article to PROMOTE an appointment of a CLASS INDIVIDUAL.This shouldn’t have even been about an expat beating out locals for a job. It is based in AMERICA, not Bermuda.Jon Denney
