Just get on with it OBA

August 9, 2013

Dear Sir

I am really happy to see this change of direction with regard to making a decision on gaming in Bermuda by referendum. The OBA was elected to lead and make decisions which will turn this country around. That's why we have elections and unless this is a major decision affecting the entire future of this country, which it isn't, I completely support the Governments decision to make a decision on their own. December 17, 2013 was the referendum.

Mr Editor, gaming is an important issue and most of us realise that it's a part of an answer and not THE answer. It's a complicated issue as to structure, regulation and control but its just a decision that needs to be made. One topic referendums are very dangerous because the wording and the politicking can be twisted all over the place. The OBA needs to just get on with it — like they are doing with other controversial matters. Forget the politics, make a decision, implement it and you'll get your answer at the next election.

sincerely

Sky Larkin
