Lost turtle — a thank you

Sir,

Please allow me a scrap of space to thank Ms Ceola Wilson for picking up, from E-Moo, and writing a story about the turtle going walkabout.

Since the article and follow story up was published I have had numerous e-mail responses and phone calls (over 30 +) to my home and cellular phones from concerned people either giving advice, making suggestions or offers of a home for Stevie, even two calls from overseas (same caller). A lot of folk were looking for their missing slider.

On the downside this just proves how good red eared sliders are at escaping their habitat.

So, to those that choose to have turtles as pets, please ensure that they cannot escape and be responsible and do not allow them to breed.

Once again, many thanks to those who called, to Ceola and lastly Mr Toby Trott for adopting ‘Stevie Wander' (about).

It is so nice to know that some people still care even if it is for a lowly turtle.
