Dear Sir,

Re: OBA behind PLP.

While I am inclined to be neutral when it comes to politics, I am horrified that the people of Bermuda are so easily swayed but the seeming inaction by the One Bermuda Alliance. What the OBA inherited was disgraceful but the electorate now seem to have forgotten the waste and mismanagement that we endured for the last 14 years under the Progressive Labour Party.

The OBA is not doing a good job by constantly saying how bad things are instead of saying how they are going to fix it, and sadly in this very divided and racist country black Bermudians are easily swayed to believe that white people don’t have their interest at heart. In order to grow Bermudians need to realise that they are all involved in the fight to save the country and that race is not involved.

Those tactics should have gone out of the window years ago, but there are members of the opposition who are unable to follow their chosen profession because they cannot pass a drug test and yet seem to think they can lead the country out of the recession. At this very serious period in our history we need to get together, stop repeating the old xenophobic mantra, be realistic about what jobs Bermudians are qualified to have and realise that foreign investment brings in work for Bermudians. The PLP should come up with some new tactics and the OBA needs to inspire more confidence in the voters who expected more concrete results.
