Shelly Bay plans will replace green with concrete
Dear Sir,
With regard to the suggested Shelly Bay plans, once again it will be a case of removing the “green” to make a parking lot!
Has Mr Steinhoff never seen the families that enjoy birthday parties on that parcel of green? Obviously not.
There is an existing parking lot at Shelly Bay that his patrons can use. Or perhaps he hasn’t noticed that one.
Mind you, that is where the playground and sports’ patrons park and rightly so. Perhaps he can strike a deal with the owner of the empty property across from the restaurant. Hamilton Parish residents will not permit any development without seeing plans. And here’s hoping our honourable liquor licensing group will insist that all alcohol sold must be consumed in the restaurant. Additionally, will he rent his beach “toys” from the existing ramp at the northern end, or will beach-goers be pushed closer to that rocky area? We need to see plans.
I had to smile at C Griffin’s suggestion that Government should “fix the bathrooms and hire a Bermudian to maintain them”. I agree totally with the first part but keeping them clean by a Bermudian is pie-in-the-sky at its best.
First of all we have to find one — a Bermudian, that is.
