Dear Mr Editor,

We have been overwhelmed and touched by the outpouring of support since the story of our life’s journey was published on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. We are truly grateful and appreciative for the support we have received through e-mails, Facebook and phone calls. It is beyond what we imagined or expected.

We hope that our story can serve as inspiration to anyone facing adversity. We chose to share ourselves with you, our community, in order to let others know that there is joy and hope after tragedy.

It was not easy for us to bare our souls — we certainly had second thoughts about the interview, as this experience has been very challenging for us. While we have been shaped by the difficulties and loss from that period of time in our lives, we refuse to live in the past as we try to make our future together as bright as possible.

We encourage others facing similar challenges to do the same.

Lastly, we wish to thank Jessie Moniz for sharing the truth of our story.
