Breaking the rules: Fishing on the new Railway Trail bridge
Dear Sir,
When the sign clearly states that fishing from the bridge is not allowed, how do we stop people doing just that even when the error of their ways has been pointed out to them?
We swim in the bay regularly and are often surrounded by turtles. When the construction of the bridge was first proposed, the issue of fishing from the bridge was the very thing that concerned us most, as we envisaged fishing lines being left in the water and snagging turtles.
Of course, I politely asked the fisherman in the photo if he was aware of the “no fishing” sign and got the belligerent reply “is this your bridge?” Which is completely irrelevant and the conversation rapidly went downhill from there. What to do?
