A welcome return of cruise ships to cities

Cruise Ship docks in St George's. (Photograph by Blaire Simmons)

Dear Sir,

I don’t get into Hamilton every day, but today I had a fantastic surprise to see a very large cruise ship at dock, with her tourists wandering the streets of the city.

I understand from talking to others that there is also a cruise ship docked in St George’s.

How wonderful and kudos to the tourism minister and the Bermuda Tourism Authority for finding a way to get the ships back into our two major cities.

I can recall not that long ago that someone from the previous government said that it was impossible to find cruise ships to visit at Hamilton and St George’s, and hence the push for the mega ships in Dockyard.

Well, this is a pleasant change indeed and I’m sure the merchants and staff working to serve our visitors are also very pleased.
