Dreams of ‘buffing’ the island for tourists
Dear Sir,
I was on my way to work this morning and dreaming about the two mega ships up at the Dockyard.
Yes, they are back, thousands of tourists and crew coming down to enjoy our beautiful island.
Passing over the smallest drawbridge in the world made me think of the soon-to-arrive taxis full of sightseers out on tour; stopping at “the Bridge” to take pictures of that gem and to feed the fish are just a couple of activities that help to showcase our island.
Mr Editor, I was not impressed, as the grass was a foot long and the entire area unkept. What an impression to give.
Do we still have a parks department? It would look nice if that top tourist attraction was buffed.
Anyhow, I continued on and could only wonder what the No 1 tourist attraction, Horseshoe Bay, looks like. All those buses, taxis and bikes soon arriving to enjoy the most beautiful beach in the world.
To someone’s credit, the recently created lookouts at Church Bay and at Warwick Camp are spectacular.
Just needs a sign or two highlighting such.
Well, Mr Editor, it’s off to the Ag Show I go. I heard the grounds are looking good.
