Dear Sir,

Our gun discussions and the referendum on same-sex marriage need one vital ingredient: education.

The Bible and The Second Amendment were written many years ago, often out of ignorance.

The Bible, because of science, was not at that time advanced enough to know that people were born with an omission in their DNA, which was nature and not their fault.

The Second Amendment accommodated a need for guns for game, shooting for food and protection. Not as it is today, when many people buy guns to commit crimes.

Education is the key to understanding, compassion and love.
