Love your country, shame about the rude bus driver

Poor service: a visitor says a bus driver was unwelcoming (File photograph by Akil Simmons)

Dear Sir,

I am about to leave after spending the month of June in your beautiful country. Your transportation system is wonderful. We enjoyed riding the “Fast Ferry” every day from St George’s to Dockyard. We used your buses most days to get from place to place. For the most part, your drivers are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.

One such bus driver was K.J. Spenser; she was working the St George’s route. She had a smile and a personality that just made your day.

But then there was another driver who made people feel that no matter what you did, it was not to her liking. I can’t tell you her name, as it was never posted, but on more than one occasion she was so rude, she made you think twice about coming back or riding the bus.

I can tell you on Sunday, June 26, she was the driver of the bus on the No 1 route leaving Hamilton at noon. We have been coming to Bermuda for 40 years and this is the first time I have had a reason to make a bad comment about anything.

One person did not ruin our trip; nor will she prevent us from coming back. We love Bermuda and, God willing, we will be back.
