There is still a bit of goodness in this world

A note of thanks: writer grateful of the help of emergency services and passers-by (Photo by Glenn Tucker)

Dear Sir,

This is a message of thanks to some very kind souls.

On Saturday, October 5, 2019, I tripped on an uneven pavement near Gibbons Company, Church Street. I fell flat to the ground, striking my head.

I was taken by ambulance to the hospital where I was informed that I had received a very nasty gash on my forehead, above my left eye, and injured both hands, with the left hand/wrist sustaining the worst injury.

I want to first thank God for his grace and mercy in sparing my life. Second, I wish to thank all who came to my assistance. I don’t know your names, but your support and encouraging words were of great comfort.

Someone brought ice, a cookie, another called 911 and my family. Special thanks go out to those who stayed with me until the ambulance arrived. To all, I am eternally grateful.

Thanks also to the ambulance personnel, King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and Dr K, my church family and my pastor, the Reverend Nicholas Tweed.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. I have since healed nicely.
