Can there be more give than take for Annual Classic?

Mullet Bay Park is a popular parking zone at Cup Match time (Photograph by Akil Simmons)

Dear Sir,

Another Cup Match in St George's and another display of parking everywhere four wheels could be squeezed.

Quite right, too — it's the highlight of the year and there are far more cars than parking slots. This was followed by the horrible sight of hundreds of parking tickets being slammed on folks who want nothing more than to attend the game.

No point blaming the police: “them’s the rules”.

So for two days, say until 8pm, can St George’s Council authorise far wider parking privileges so that folks can both park and breathe easy?

At 8pm, normal service can resume.

Failing that, a bus shuttle from Kindley Field would help.
