Grief Response Ministry gives thanks
Dear Sir,
On behalf of the Grief Response Ministry Team, I write to express our gratitude for the generosity of the people of Bermuda.
On Wednesday, August 27, the Grief Response Ministry held its annual tag day at various locations around Bermuda, specifically at the MarketPlace and Lindo’s stores.
The response from the Bermuda public was phenomenal. We want to publicly thank everyone who gave to this cause.
The aim of the Grief Response Ministry, a branch of the Community Services of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is to provide ongoing emotional and spiritual support to those who grieve. We also offer a 13-week online support group (two hours weekly) known as Grief Share, which has proven to be immensely therapeutic and beneficial.
There is a lot of grief in Bermuda. We attempt to call, visit and pray with grieving individuals or families. We assess any other needs and try to meet those needs. One member of our team has the sole responsibility of mailing sympathy cards. Our ministry has grown by leaps and bounds. Because of this growth, our financial needs have risen exponentially.
Finally, we also extend thanks to our tag day volunteers — too numerous to mention — who gave unselfishly of their time, and to the managers of the Lindo’s and MarketPlace stores who permitted us to use their premises.
MARLENE WARREN
