The North Shore pub scene is about to be set ablaze with a new members-only sports bar and lounge set to open its doors this week.A group of friends, four of which are full-time firemen, have been working tirelessly to launch Inferno Lounge 2 — located at 80 North Shore Road. Justin Robinson, Darron Simons, Troy Brimmer, Kingsley Mundy and Hezekiah Fox are the owners.Complete with five flat screen TVs showing all things sports related, ample seating and breezy views of the sea, Inferno Lounge 2 caters to the ‘mature’ crowd — looking for members 25 years and older.“We noticed that there was a void in the market for a place specifically catering to the mature crowd. Somewhere sophisticated and relaxed,” said Debbie Brimmer, wife of one Mr Brimmer, and who is the administrator of the business.“A place where people could mingle, enjoy good cocktails, listen to good music and feel safe doing so.”Located upstairs from the Seaside Grill, the interior has been completely renovated featuring a new cedar bar, new sound system as well new furniture and lighting.Inferno Lounge 2, which can hold up to 250 people, now boasts two seating areas, including a lounge area with couches and an outside patio with tables and umbrellas.“It is completely transformed!” said Mrs Brimmer, who was responsible for the decorating.“It’s contemporary and sophisticated. By day it boasts a bright, airy, relaxing vibe with beautiful ocean views and calming sea breezes and magically transforms into a soothing, sexy, romantic retreat at night. A home-away-from-home for the mature crowd.”Music will flow in the evenings — from soca, salsa and ‘oldie goldie’s’ on Thursday nights and a variety of “old school DJs” playing on Saturday nights.Inferno Lounge 2 is a full-liquor bar and food is available downstairs from the Seaside Grill.General memberships run at $200 per person, per year and a joint/spousal membership is $275 per year. There are also group and corporate memberships available. According to Mrs Brimmer, people have already been clamouring to be a part of the party.“We are overwhelmed by the response — it has been amazing,” she said. “People keep telling us ‘this is what we’ve been waiting for’.Membership forms have been flying out the door. Everyone who comes by has fallen in love with the space.”The official grand opening ceremony and party will be held this Friday, July 6.The hours will generally be 12pm-1am Monday through Thursday; 12pm-3am Friday and Saturday; and open earlier on Sunday to show various sporting events with the added bonus of having Seaside Grill serving traditional Sunday codfish and potato breakfast.Inferno Lounge 2 is also available for private and corporate rentals. For more information e-mail inferno@transact.bm or call 295-7474.
