Office-sharing scheme to expand

New location: Nineteen's Tim Miller is to partner with Independent Consulting Solutions to offer an additional 600 square feet of fully-furnished office space on Bermudiana Road.

A unique office-sharing scheme is set to expand and target smaller local businesses and new firms setting up shop on the island. The move came after the existing office-share building, nineteen, in Hamilton’s Queen Street, became fully-occupied after Jeremy Deacon, former acting editor of The Royal Gazette, moved his Deep Blue Communications PR firm into the building. Now nineteen owner Tim Miller is to partner with technology and business consulting company Independent Consulting Solutions to offer an additional 600 square feet of fully-furnished office space on nearby Bermudiana Road.Mr Miller said: “nineteen is an ideal starting point for small companies, entrepreneurs and businesses located both in and outside Hamilton and overseas looking for an affordable and professional touchdown location in the city.”“He added: The objective of nineteen is to help grow Bermuda’s offshore presence by providing a one-stop shop for overseas companies looking to incorporate in Bermuda, utilising the cost-effective office solution that we provide.“Very quickly, new businesses can be up and running with a professional, fully-managed office offering everything a fledgling company will need.“I want to be able to say to a start-up insurance or reinsurance company ‘look, we have access to a corporate lawyer, a leading technology company, a printing specialist, custom risk management, software solutions and a PR company who complement each other’s services and are all available within the same community in these serviced offices.”The nineteen building provides office space, cubicles and a boardroom for meetings for rent from hourly to monthly rates. The minimum membership package provides clients with access to a common sitting area, wireless internet, a mailing address and printers.Mr Miller, who also runs inCompass Technologies, which distributes Lanier photocopier distributors, said new businesses could also use the shared office concept for networking and drumming up new business. He added: “There is an established networking environment and all our members are afforded the opportunity to up-sell their services to other businesses at nineteen.“In the future, we also plan to facilitate networking opportunities for these small businesses through nineteen’s partnerships with Link Bermuda, ProServe and Independent Consulting Solutions which will allow nineteen’s technology partners to showcase how their products can assist how small businesses operate.”He added: “As it grows, so will the level and type of services that will be provided. Ultimately, it will be a vibrant and diverse business community in its own right.”For more information, contact Mr Miller on 400-1919 or at tim@ancompass.bm.
