Swan launches tourist service
A young Bermudian entrepreneur has launched a new service designed to make the Island more attractive to visitors.
And Chris’t’ian Swan will today hold a special event at Washington Mall to promote his guest services and support business to vacation-related industries and to coincide with the launch of his website.
Mr Swan, 31, said: “My company means our guests have someone they can reach out to before they even come to Bermuda and, if they want to go to the beach, I can tell them where the best beach is or hook them up with accommodation, a taxi tour or cave visits — anything, really. They can reach out and I can help.”
Mr Swan, from Sandys, has worked in the tourism field for 18 years, with experience with major cruise lines and airlines.
He said: “With my background in the industry and connections, I have that passion and ambition to want to do something — and giving back to Bermuda was very important.
“I have a few cruise lines on board already — I have Oceania, Voyages of Discovery, Regent and Azamara Club Cruises.”
He added: “The event at Washington Mall is about recruiting the industry and having a public awareness and networking event.
“It’s to let the public know what I’m about and the recruitment part of it is to encourage and invite people in the industry to become a part of what I’m doing.”
Mr Swan said: “This is unique — it’s something not available in Bermuda where you have someone willing to reach out and try to attract people to the Island.”
And he added: “I’ll also be going out into the market in the US to different events, promoting Bermuda and showcasing our services.”
Mr Swan will set up shop on board participating cruise ships to help promote Island attractions to both passengers and crew members and offer general advice and assistance.
He also plans to launch a similar service for Island residents travelling overseas later this year.
The Washington Mall event runs today between 9am and 5pm and Mr Swan’s website can be found at christianswan.com.
