One of the founders of air conditioning firm Air Care is to retire after nearly three decades with the company.

Operations manager Kevin Roberts will step down today, to be replaced by current projects manager William Rowse.

Air Care general manager Brendan Stones said: “We’re grateful to Kevin for helping to develop Air Care into the successful company it is today.

“We wish him well in his retirement and look forward to William putting his vast experience to work as he takes on a new role.”

Mr Roberts was one of the original buyers of the firm in 1986.

It has since grown from 15 staff and four service vehicles to 74 staff and 40 service vehicles.

Mr Roberts said: “I had the satisfaction of watching a fledgling company steadily grow into the organisation that it is today with many Bermudians passing through the ranks.

“The experience of working with talented technicians and providing mentoring and technical support to enable their growth and development has been rewarding, as has been the relationship with the team.”

Mr Rowse said: “I look forward to building on Air Care’s solid foundation and strong customer relationships, as well as continuing to encourage Bermudians to pursue rewarding heating, ventilation and air conditioning careers.”
