Landscape gardening firm Brown & Company has hired a new manager.

The firm, which also specialises in tree surgery, has taken on Dale Toms to head its arboricultural work.

Company chief Martin Brown said: “Dale is keen to maintain and develop the skills of our staff so that Brown & Company can continue to deliver the highest quality tree care available in Bermuda.”

Mr Toms joined the Bermuda firm from British firm Glendale plc, where he was a project manager one of the largest direct labour grounds maintenance contractors in the UK.

He worked as the arboricultural contract manager responsible for delivering services in the English country of Surrey as part of the firm’s contract with Surrey County Council.

Mr Brown said: “We hope that with this experience, Dale will assist us with the development and management of the ongoing provision of vegetation management contracts with Belco as well as any potential upcoming larger grounds maintenance contracts.

“Additionally, Dale brings with him the most up to date arboricultural knowledge and techniques so we can continue to offer our residential customers the highest quality tree care, pruning, dismantling and felling to current best practice and health and safety standards.”
