Docksider

After undergoing some repairs over the past month, the M/V Oleander is said to be in "tip top mechanical order" and is expected back on the Island on Sunday.

According to Blair Simmons, Operations Manager for CSM, the vessel was dry docked in Halifax, Nova Scotia for a routine inspection, which included repainting and a detailed survey of the ship's structure.

He said: "Most of the issues were cosmetic or standard repairs." Now that the vessel is up to code, it will be back to its normal scheduling and is expected to arrive on the Island on Sunday afternoon.

The M/V Somers Isles is expected to arrive this morning at 8.15 a.m. from Fernandina Beach, Florida.

The vessel will discharge 140 containers including eight reefers and three boats, before returning to Florida on Friday.

The M/V Bermuda Islander will arrive tomorrow morning at 8.05 a.m. from Salem, New Jersey. She will discharge 118 containers including 31 reefers and four flatracks and will leave the Island at 8.05 a.m. on Friday.

On the Island earlier this week was SMARAGD, which arrived on Monday and left yesterday, carrying 133 dry containers and 46 reefers.

The vessel also dropped off two road trailers and a boat on a cradle.
