Dear Sir,We have seen an enormous increase in the proliferation of ugly signage creeping all over the Island. Surely the new Digicel signage has hit an all-time low with their billboards. Isn’t it time our Planning Department instituted fines for these illegal signs.East Broadway stupid signage does little to enhance one’s welcome into Hamilton. They are nothing but a distraction and trash the landscaping.Our electric light poles are full of staples from attaching signs mostly of barely clad women. They are never removed and advertise events months long past.At one time we were unique with our lack of roadside advertising. I don’t know why these sign proliferators think this form roadside abuse helps their businesses — it certainly drives me in the opposite direction.LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY
