Aardvark Communications Ltd.:

Bermuda advertising and multimedia agency Aardvark Communications announced yesterday that it had received the Unisource Litho Award for its design of a Presentation Folder Kit for Zurich Investment Services.

The winning design, which featured young Bermudian Jordan Fairn on the front cover, included a presentation folder and brochure.

Managing director Ben Fairn said of the award: "This award is a reflection of just some of the great work we have been producing on behalf of a wide range of clients in recent years.

"We are continually looking to challenge existing design and create artwork that really stands out and gives our clients the edge they are looking for.

"We have a new creative director on board, working with our team of experienced and innovative designers and are looking forward to bringing more of these awards back to Bermuda."

ACE Limited:

ACE Limited yesterday announced that Jaime Paredes will join the company next month as chairman and CEO of ACE Latin America. Mr. Paredes will report to Gary Schmalzriedt, who was recently named chairman and CEO of ACE Overseas General.

Mr. Paredes joins ACE from Skandia, where he served for 23 years in various leadership positions, including most recently as president and chief operating officer of Skandia Latin America. He holds a number of advanced degrees, including a master's degree in economics from the University of Glasgow.

Mr. Paredes will be based in Miami.

In addition, Klaus Gebhardt, currently executive vice president, Global Property at ACE Bermuda, has been appointed to the position of chief underwriting officer, ACE Latin America.

Mr. Gebhardt has been based in Bermuda but will re-locate to Miami as a result of this appointment.

Mr. Gebhardt came to ACE from Arkwright Mutual Insurance Company where he was responsible for the management of the company's underwriting and claims functions.

Prior to that, Mr. Gebhardt worked with Allianz Insurance Company in the United States and Germany, managing the company's International Property Department and writing global property business for Fortune 500 companies.

Meanwhile, Acacio Queiroz, President of ACE Latin America, will take on the additional role of chief operating officer for the region, reporting to Mr. Paredes.

Mr. Queiroz will also retain the title of president of the Administration Council of ACE Seguradora S.A., ACE's Brazilian company.
