Bank of Bermuda improves
Shares on the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange jumped 88.341 points or 3.66 percent last week, sparked by trading in the Bank of Bermuda, which surged 7.5 percent in value.
The Index closed at 2,410.91 on volume of 26,106 shares worth $354,196.80.
Bank of Bermuda gained $2.45 to close at 435 on volume of 1,000 shares.
On the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, it closed down 50 cents to $34.98 for the week.
Argus Insurance rose 50 cents or 2.63 percent to close at $19.50 on volume of 500.
Belco Holdings also gained, rising 75 cents or 2.4 percent to close at $32 on volume of 100 .
Two share issues declined in value on relatively heavy volumes.
KeyTech fell 40 cents or 3.81 percent to $10.10 on volume of 6,500 shares and LOM Holdings slipped five cents to $1.90 on volume of 9,600 shares.
The Bermuda Insurance Index closed up 4.05 points at 966.88 having seen shares of international insurers spike earlier in the week on strong first quarter earnings results.
