BSX drops 100 points as blue chip stocks retreat
The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell 102.110 points last week to close at 4,364.61.
During an active week of trading no issues made any gains. Belco Holdings led the declines, losing $2.40 to close at $37.50 as investors traded in 7,578 shares.
Butterfield Bank fell $1.25 to close at $55.75 on volume of 31,619 shares, Argus fell 50 cents to close at $14 on volume of 9,100 shares and Bermuda Container Line lost 50 cents to close at $14 as 16,300 shares changed hands.
Meanwhile Kentucky Fried Chicken traded in 5,800 shares to close unchanged at $6, Masters traded in 126 shares to close unchanged at $16 and 1,425 BF&M shares changed hands to close unchanged at $18.50.
The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX last week was $2,491,389.75 and the overall volume of shares was 71,948. Chart: Page 14
